RTF Therapeutic Lacrosse

Adaptive Lacrosse PA is proud to announce the formation of an RTF lacrosse program slated for a late-winter/Spring 2018 start. This program will focus on helping clients in Residential Treatment Facilities and other placements to learn, practice, and play the sport of lacrosse while being coached by current and former players/coaches/officials trained by Adaptive Lacrosse PA to work with this specialized population. AdLaxPA projects that the program will feature weekly sessions throughout the year and opportunities for potential play amongst facilities participating in the RTF therapeutic lacrosse program.

This is not just a lacrosse program. It features the integration of a Life Skills component, an academic piece, taught by their trained coaches, focused on acquisition of various life skills including confidence building, communication skills, problem solving, conflict resolution, and more. AdLaxPA also plans to include an academic enrichment tutoring program as well. Additionally, players would be expected to participate in a community service project as part of the program.

The focus is on building a “whole person” through the use of lacrosse, the associated academics, and community service activity.
